Snow on Christmas Day

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I had a wonderful Christmas I had all my kids at home and Michael came home from Christmas. This time last year he was in Iraq, it was a hard time for me know he was over there, and  was not able to be home for Christmas. My heart was filled with Joy to have all  my kids home it was like they were little again. That was a wonderful gift that God gave me. I can say I had a wonderful Christmas.

We got snow for Christmas it started snowing Christmas Eve it was wonderful it was just enough, to add that special touch to Christmas.

Christmas Cardinals

Good Day, I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas, I love this time of the year the hustle and bustle. It can wear you out. I have been on the go since last Friday, with finishing up Christmas card, wrapping and shopping. 

I love Cardinals they are such pretty birds.  Red is my favorite color and the different color of red that are on the male Cardinals they are beautiful.  I am amazed when I see animals and how God has come up with colors and different types of animals, he is amazing.   I would love to get up real close and capture a picture of one.  I will need to get a good lens for that or be camoflauged so I can get close of enough to them.  I have some Cardinals I bought at Joanns a couple of Christmas ago that I leave out on my mantle at home I thought I would post a picture of them

Snow

I thought I would share pictures of the snow that hit our area over the weekend it was so pretty and it was freezing the wind made it feel like you had needles poking on your skin if you were not bundled up.  We were outside for a very short period of time for me to take these pictures then hurry up and get back outside even my dogs would not stay out there very long they were ready to go back in the house.

Christmas Time

Hi everyone I am so bad I have not blogged in a while I have been busy with getting ready for the holidays, I had told myself I need to make time to blog.  So today I decided I would make time. This time last year I was sad because my son was not home for Christmas he was in Iraq.  That was really hard on me, especially when he first left I could not focus on work I cried sometimes on my way to work, I looked forward to getting emails or phone calls from him. it got a little better as time went on but I kept up with news in the middle east.  But knowing he was over there was hard I wanted him back in the USA.  Well this year he is coming home for Christmas and I am so looking forward to having all of my kids home for Christmas.

  Its been cold here in TN and have had snow flurries and it is really got me into the holiday shopping.  I thought I would share a few pictures of Christmas at my house. The picture below is our Christmas Tree in our family room along with my huge Santa I love him, he is so life like I did not go all out in decorating like I usually do. I thought I would put him in our family room so we can enjoy him more. Last year I had him in the foyer.  When I would get up early in the morning to wake my daughter for school I  had to remind myself Santa is in the corner its not a person. 

Below is are Cardinals I have on my mantel in my living room.  I love Cardinals I keep them out all year. I love beautiful red they have on them. 

This is our other Christmas Tree we have in our living room I love Vintage Christmas and went with that theme on this tree. 

Not sure if I am going to hang our stockings here on the mantel

A Green Friend Who Stopped By

Hello, I found this little fellow in one of my flower pots when I was watering them the other day. It was kind of funny he blended in well with the leaves on the plant, I saw him and went back in the house and grabbed my camera.  He watched me as I had my camera walking around him, as I tried to take a pciture of him or her.  I normally dont like insects but I found him interesting.  I  loved his eyes and  how the water droplets are on his legs.  I have to get me a macro lens I think I could have got a closer shot of him.

The Hermitage

I thought I would share some photos of The Hermitage Home of President Andrew Jackson.  Photos were not allowed to be taken inside the home or in the building where they have artifacts.  Its beautiful and peaceful Andrew was nicknamed Old Hickory.

County Fair 2010

My husband and I took our daughter to the County Fair a couple of weeks ago, we love to go for the exhibits, Polish sausage, and we love to eat funnel cake. I love to go look at the animals they are so precious, but it was really hot this year. The first Saturday we went it rained and it cooled off but we had to find a place to keep out of the rain for about 45 min to hour.  Before it rained I took pictures of the rabbits and chickens & pigs. My daughter and I wanted to bring home a rabbit, but my husband thought we had enough pets with my 2 yorkies.  I felt sorry for the animals out in the heat they were covered but it was still hot.  I took pictures of other exhibits I will post those later.

The hen above was my favorite, I just loved the colors on her feathers.

when I saw this rooster the feathers, they looked like they would be belong in a lady fancy expensive hat.

Humming Bird

I found this poor little humming bird in my garage on Sunday, I had went to go get a coke out of our coke machine. I noticed my dog Isabelle was looking up and did not want to leave. She would look up and then look at me with this look on her face like dont you see it?  when I looked up I saw this poor humming bird in flying around the garage trying to find his way out.  We had our garage doors open, it was so hot in there.

I went and grabbed my camera to get pictures of him.  I had my daughter come out and help me we got the broom to get him on the bristles so he could latch on and we can carry him outside he stayed there for few seconds before he flew away.
Thank Goodness Isabelle saw him or he would have probably died from exhaustion trying to find a way to get out.

I love Meerkats

Happy Friday,
I am so glad it is Friday, I did not realize it was Friday the 13th. Eeek. I wanted to post pictures I had taken of Meerkats. I did not realize how cute they were until I saw them on Animal Planet Meerkat Manor.  I loved that show it made me laugh and cry. My favorite meerkats were mozart and flower, Carlos.  It would break my heart to see these little animals picked up by hawks for get bit by snakes and see them being taken off or lay there and die.  I eventually had to quit watching the show after flower died it would break my heart. 
These pictures I took at Zoo, these Meerkats are little fatter compared to the Meerkats in Africa. They are so cute I would love to have one as a pet but I know that would not work out well.

My Heart is sad

I'm sad to hear in the news earlier this past week a young man from our town was killed in Aphganastan by a I.E.D.  He was only 21 years old.  Tonight I heard of another solder for the Middle TN area has been billed by another I.E.D.  It saddens me to hear of any U.S Soldier who is killed in the Middle East.  I was going by the funeral home Saturday and they had the American flags in front of the funeral home it brought tears to my eyes to see this young man name in front of the funeral home.  I did not know this young man who paid the ultimate sacrafice. When a death hits in your home town it makes the war all that much more real. 
I keep all the soldiers and theire families in my prayers.

Isabelle & Gabby

I have been busy this summer with softball tournaments, softball is keeping us busy this summer. I have not had time to toak pictures,  So I thought I would post pictures of my babies, I love my dogs, the picture below is Isabelle she is my first Yorkie that I got she is so spoiled she is a diva. She does not like taking baths, she loves to sun bathe outside, going for rides in the car,

The picture below is Gabby she is a little firecracker she is Isabelle half sister.  She loves to run and play outside chase birds, cats. She also doe not like to take baths but she is alot easier to bath she does not fight me. She does not like to share the toys. The toys that are Isabelle she claims them. When Isabelle tries to play with a toy she goes and take it from her.

I just love my angels it so hard for me to leave them when I have to go to work, but I have to remind myself I work to be able to get them the things I need and stuff they need as well.
